Head of health for the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor in 2000-2001 and WHO Representative in Cambodia 2002-2005. Principal Health Adviser at the Australian Agency for International Development in Canberra 2005-2009. Founding member of the UCSF-led global Malaria Elimination Group and current member of the Lancet Commission on Malaria Eradication. Current Chair of the Global Fund Technical Evaluation Reference Group. Freelance consultant in health and development based in Cali, Colombia.
